What is a Solid State Doppler Radar?.
The concept of solid-state radar is that these radars start up quickly, they do no longer use a magnetron and therefore require very little power. The radars detect simultaneously at short and long distances.
Doppler radar is specially tuned to detect the returned echo frequency of moving versus fixed objects, also called Target Analyzer. An important point is that Targets / targets you approach ship automatically change color to help you identify them when they become dangerous. With colored echoes, moving traffic can be very easily distinguished from other traffic or fixed objects, such as ships that are standing still, land etc. Green echoes stay stationary or sail away, while red echoes can be dangerous as they approach your ship. You must therefore pay extra attention to the red echoes.
