Product description

LMB-F1 self-levelling radar mount – forward facing backstay

The LMB-F1 is expertly designed to optimize radar performance by elevating the radar unit away from obstructions and interference. With a 2.6m (8’6”) height, the mount is positioned forward of the backstay, ensuring an unobstructed deck while providing clear radar visibility. Crafted from marine-grade aluminium, this mount is compatible with the latest radar models from Garmin, Raymarine, and B&G. Its self-levelling system ensures that your radar remains horizontal, regardless of heel angles or sea conditions.

The LMB-F1 ensures improved radar range by elevating the radome, offering enhanced navigational accuracy. Its durable, maintenance-free design is built to endure challenging marine environments, while versatile installation options make it suitable for a wide range of yachts. Trusted by industry leaders, the LMB-F1 delivers reliable, long-term performance.

The product LMB-F1 Radar pole is a high-quality item designed to meet your needs with optimal performance and reliability.

FEATURES

Hydraulic damping

The main levelling unit features a fine-tuned damping system which reacts to major changes in the heel angle of the boat. It is entirely maintenance-free and no power is required, ensuring reliable performance without the need for ongoing upkeep.

Bespoke mounting pole

The 2.6m (8’6”) aluminium mounting pole is supplied in two lengths with a hidden joiner piece, providing a clean and seamless finish. Cables are routed down an integrated cable channel for a neat and organized installation. Extension pieces are available to meet various height requirements.

High strength universal base for mounting pole

The high-strength universal base eliminates loading on the backstay, preserving the integrity of your rigging. It offers versatile installation options and can be mounted on the deck, transom, or chainplate, allowing for easy integration into different yacht configurations.

Suitable for any yacht

The stainless steel radome cradle includes a fine-tune adjustment for the backstay angle, ensuring optimal alignment. The product can be installed on both adjustable and split backstays, making it compatible with a wide range of yacht designs.

Nylon backstay bushing supplied

The supplied nylon backstay bushing clamps securely around the backstay, allowing the cable tension to be easily adjusted. This ensures a secure and tidy installation while maintaining backstay functionality.

Mount your radar higher

Additional extension pieces of 0.6m and 1.3m are available, allowing you to mount your radome higher for improved radar range and visibility, adapting to specific vessel requirements.

Rigorous testing and proven durability

Every mount undergoes extensive testing under the Scanstrut SCA (Safe, Certified, Approved) program to ensure top-tier performance in harsh marine environments. Testing includes dynamic on-water evaluations, shock testing up to 30G, corrosion resistance with 100-hour salt spray exposure, IP-rated water and dust protection, and finite element analysis (FEA) for structural optimization. This comprehensive testing ensures the mount’s durability, safety, and long-term reliability at sea.
