The LMB-A2 is designed to enhance radar functionality by positioning the radar unit away from interference sources while keeping the deck clear of obstructions. Standing at 2.6m (8’6”) high, it mounts forward of the backstay, allowing for optimal radar performance. Constructed from premium marine-grade aluminium, the LMB-A2 is compatible with the latest radar models from Furuno, ensuring long-lasting durability and superior performance in demanding marine environments.
The LMB-A2 is engineered to deliver optimal radar performance while ensuring your deck remains clear of obstructions. Its robust construction, ease of installation, and compatibility with various yacht types make it an ideal choice for sailors seeking reliability and performance. The hydraulic damping system, maintenance-free operation, and versatile mounting options make it a valuable addition to any yacht.
The product LMB-A2 Radar pole is a high-quality item designed to meet your needs with optimal performance and reliability.
Hydraulic damping
The main levelling unit features a fine-tuned damping system which reacts to major changes in the heel angle of the boat. This self-adjusting mechanism is entirely maintenance-free and requires no power, ensuring continuous, reliable operation without user intervention.
Bespoke mounting pole
The 2.6m (8’6”) aluminium mounting pole is supplied in two lengths with a hidden joiner piece, providing a seamless and tidy finish. Cables are neatly routed through an integrated cable channel, ensuring a clean installation. Extension pieces are available to accommodate varying height requirements.
High strength universal base for mounting pole
Designed to eliminate loading on the backstay, the high-strength universal base offers versatile installation options. It can be securely mounted on the deck, transom, or chainplate, making it adaptable to a wide range of yacht configurations.
Suitable for any yacht
The stainless steel radome cradle includes fine-tune adjustments for the backstay angle, ensuring precise alignment for optimal radar performance. The LMB-A2 is suitable for installation on both adjustable and split backstays, providing flexibility for various rigging setups.
Nylon backstay bushing supplied
A nylon backstay bushing is included, allowing the mount to clamp securely around the backstay. This design enables easy adjustment of cable tension while maintaining a neat and secure installation.
Mount your radar higher
Additional 0.6m and 1.3m extension pieces are available, allowing you to raise your radome higher for improved radar range and visibility, particularly useful for yachts requiring elevated radar positioning.
Rigorous testing and proven durability
Every mount undergoes extensive testing under the Scanstrut SCA (Safe, Certified, Approved) program to ensure top-tier performance in harsh marine environments. Testing includes dynamic on-water evaluations, shock testing up to 30G, corrosion resistance with 100-hour salt spray exposure, IP-rated water and dust protection, and finite element analysis (FEA) for structural optimization. This comprehensive testing ensures the mount’s durability, safety, and long-term reliability at sea.
