The FURUNO WLAN Radar Model DRS4W is the first boat radar sensor in the world to show wireless radar images on you iOS devices, a combination of ease of use and great flexibility via WIFI. After installing the antenna and downloading the free Radar app from the Apple Store, you can directly watch the images on your iPad or iPhone. The radar does not to be connected to an MFD to have an picture but it can also later. You can move freely up to 10 meters across your boat, with complete information from ships in your area. Up to 2 Ipads or Iphones can be connected simultaneously. The image quality corresponds to a conventional 10-inch radar connected via a cable.
This FURUNO radar is particularly suitable for smaller sailing and motor yachts. The FURUNO DRS4W was tested extensively in the monthly magazine Zeilen (edition8 / 2015). In particular, the very simple installation (only 12 volts, no other cables), the great ease of use and the remarkably high distinctive character were regarded as plus points. Easy networking.
